GTBank CBD, Abuja’s design aims to breathe life into spaces, reflecting the Client’s beliefs and cultural context and converting a block of 6no. Flats into a bank building posed a challenge, striving for a visually impactful presence in a diverse neighbourhood.
Embracing a contemporary style, the design embodies GTBank’s identity through an orange cuboid, symbolizing innovation and freedom of thought. The architecture marries the brand’s essence with the physical space, aiming to foster emotional connections with clients.
Key design elements include a steel network mimicking a raffia palm cage and the orange cuboid, encapsulating the Bank’s ethos. The focus on user experience led to a welcoming entrance foyer flooded with natural light.
Challenges like limited structural information were encountered but didn’t hinder the design process. The design sought to resonate with the cultural context where possible, honouring the Bank’s heritage and values.
This design philosophy aims to create spaces that echo the Client’s identity and cultural heritage, fostering emotional connections beyond mere physical form.
